I wanted to Be a Better Taster
WineLovers' Challenge grew out of my professional interest as
well as personal enjoyment of wine. For the last 13 years, I have been
responsible for the creative and production of advertising and marketing
materials in Canada for American and International brands. My exposure
to wine tastings by winemakers prompted my desire to become a more skillful
wine taster. Eventually this led to the development of WineLovers' Challenge.
Designed for a Good Time with Friends
The game's concept was for friends
to enjoy a glass or two of wine and at the same time add to their wine
appreciation and knowledge. I wanted it to be easy to play, easy to
set-up and most importantly, very entertaining. After months of trying
different versions on friends, I decided to take the gamble and turn
WineLovers' Challenge into a real product. It meant hundreds of hours
of research to develop the questions and the answers, sometimes calling
on my contacts with wine writers and industry pros.
The Only Wine Game encompassing Sophisticated Wine Appreciation Only WineLovers'
Challenge makes tasting and appreciating a wine the focus of the game.
There are no complicated rules or strategies, it is simply Sip, Talk
and Enjoy. During play all the factors that professional wine judges
consider in evaluating a wine become part of the question and answer
conversations.
I would like to hear from you. If you purchased
WineLovers' Challenge from a store or from us, I would like to
know your comments and experience playing it (you can use the Contact
Us page). Also if you know of a store that you think would be a good
outlet, we would appreciate your suggestion so we can have someone contact
them (using the form on the Contact
Us page
is easy)
Thanks,
Dave
